IL GELSO is a certified organic farm. The name comes from a wonderful mulberry tree, which was planted here many centuries ago. Local people used to call it the fairy tree. IL GELSO is 125 metres above sea level and at 3 km from the coastline.

From more than five generations our family has run this farm. Thanks to a south - east aspect and the limestone nature of the soil, the place is excellent to grow vines and olives trees. We became members of the Italian Association for Organic Agriculture, A.I.A.B., in 1993. A.I.A.B. is an internationally recognised organisation associated with I.F.O.A.M. (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements). Today, we produce and sell organic wines (I.G.T. and D.O.C.) and extra-virgin olive oil with an A.I.A.B. guarantee mark, certified by ICEA.
